Student Teaching!!

Oh my goodness!! Student teaching is awesome! I am having the best experience, and I'm so thankful for my teacher and all of the first grade teachers at North Hart :) I just finished up my second week of full time teaching and I have two more weeks of full time to go. I love the kids, and they are teaching me just as much if not more than I am teaching them :) Today I dressed up as "Major Math" the drill sergeant. I introduced the lesson by teaching them a place value song. I got this idea from teachertipster.com. The kids loved it and had a lot of fun!

It's been way to long since I've made a new post! So much has happened! I've started my final semester of college and I can't believe it's flown by so fast. I'm doing my student teaching at North Hart Elementary and I absolutely love it! If all goes as planned, I will graduate on May 7th. I took the GACE this earlier this month and I'll be getting my scores back soon :) I hope I did ok! I'll write more soon :)

Senior Year

This is my last year at Emmanuel College, and I cannot believe it. It seems like I just graduated from high school, and now I'll be graduating from college in a little over eight months. I'm excited, anxious, scared, thankful, and happy all at the same time. I keep asking myself a lot of questions: will I be able to find a job? Where will my job be? Where will I be living? Should I go to graduate school? What is my purpose? Even though I have all these questions, I know God has everything under control and I should not be worried at all. I'm so thankful for my relationship with Him and I could do nothing and would be nothing without Him.

Today I visited Teachnology.Com, and I was very impressed! They have thousands of lesson plans, worksheets and other printables for teachers. Teachers can search by subject or theme, so they can easily find exactly what they need, and with all the lesson plans available, teachers are sure to find exciting and engaging activities for their students. About Me

My name is Amber Dove. I have lived with my family in Lavonia, GA my entire life, and I'm currently working at a locally owned and operated restaurant called Pizza Shack. I'm also a full time student at Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, GA. I'm studying to be an Elementary school teacher, and I only have three semesters to go! I love Emmanuel because it is a Christian college, and I feel it is the best place for me to earn my education. I have already learned so much about teaching, and I know I will learn even more in the upcoming semesters.
